Want to know some basics on the Passive House concept?

Passive House is the fastest growing globally recognised building standard that ensures up to 90% lower energy consumption for heating and cooling, provides clean fresh air and high levels of thermal comfort 24/7 all year round in all climates.  With a ‘fabric first’ approach to continuous and high levels of insulation, airtightness, mechanical heat recovery ventilation, minimal thermal bridges and great windows and doors any building large or tiny can be made to meet these great objectives. Tiny House Media

We have seen an exponential growth in the number of articles and TV segments in the media in the last few months. To see the ones we have captured (and we will do so ongoingly), navigate to the ATHA website and the News section. Latest articles are at the top and you will see August was a busy month!

We are especially happy to see a tiny house on the cover of issue 44 of Sanctuary Magazine. A beautiful Brisbane Tiny Houses house.

Sanctuary is published by the Alternative Technology Association (now renamed 'Renew'), a not-for-profit organisation that enables, represents and inspires people to live sustainably in their homes and communities.

Event Write-up:

Tiny Houses + Eco Villages

4 August 2018

Following seven years of personally funded research, media identity and social engineer Jimmy Hirst recently compiled Queensland’s largest ever Seminar on the topic of Tiny Houses + Eco Villages, attracting over 600 interested attendees from across the state.

Polkadot•Community Incorporated Association is his social enterprise focused not on building Tiny Houses, but supporting builders and owners in how their constructions may best plug into Community.

Polkadot• is supporting the wider Tiny House Movement through entertaining, educational & engaging Events and Festivals focused on transitioning the mainstream, introducing new ideals like Blockchain, while establishing an open source operating system for sustainable Tiny House Villages, creating a platform and open forum for discussion by advocates such as the national Australian Tiny House Association (ATHA) and ESC Consulting (Queensland), to engage direct and sincere dialogue with governments and the general public on the wider planning regulations, along with voluntary and (so far) non-mandatory best practices, principles and codes for Tiny Housing and the respective communities that are expected to start popping up around the country in the near future.
