Jimmy from Polkadot • is a social engineer and entrepreneur actively working in advocating for, and helping transition the mainstream population to that of more sustainable and socially connective communities (popularly referred to as "Eco Villages"). To help improve quality of life for all people as well as helping reduce impact on the planet so that it may be enjoyed for generations to come.
With an extensive background in social organising and event management, Jimmy has had a highly awarded, celebrated & influential career and background in music, entertainment & mass media throughout Australia spanning over 20 years which has transformed generations, by socially collaborating and working with successful teams who have changed the way people live.
He has launched the polkadot • brand to help demonstrate and implement practical sustainable community living principles to the mainstream. This is connected to the polkadot community, which helps advocate, facilitate and build future housing models, one being “mobile eco parks”, through demonstrable public seminars, tiny events and sustainable festivals.
He spent over six years of his life travelling around the globe to the USA, UK & Europe and Africa to research intentional communities and connecting with thought leaders through organisations like the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), Intl Communal Studies Assoc (ICSA), Permaculture Institute of North America (PINA), NextNow (Silicon Valley), living in world-renowned villages such as the Findhorn (Scotland), Christiania (Denmark), Tamera Healing Biotope (Portugal), The Eco Village at Currumbin, and is a member of many community groups.
Affordable housing is a popular topic and seems to be getting more attention at times when the issues such as homelessness are discussed more often. This forum will have a panel of experts speaking on topics related to affordable housing and ways in which we can contribute to it. New Victorian Affordable Housing Amendment will also be presented and explained.
